About Us

Our Divine Calling

El-Shaddai Bible Church (ELBC) was founded in 1987 by the late Arch Bishop (Dr.) Joseph Olanrewaju Obembe as a purpose-driven ministry to transform lives, empower and equip people to fulfill God’s purpose on earth as revealed by Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our mandate aligns with the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ following his resurrection, when he said:

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age,” Matthew 28:18-20.

We are a community church that is fostering godly leadership, discipleship and community impact. We are committed to raising pious disciples to carry on the mandate of Christ and also exemplary leaders of the 21st century church. We have continued to make immeasurable impact in the communities we serve.

Our core beliefs
  • The infallibility of the Holy Scripture (the entire sixty-six books of the Holy Bible, including 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament)
  • The trinity of the God head (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit)
  • The sinful nature of men and new creation realities (John 3)
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10:44-46,1 luke3:16, acts 19;1 -6) and water baptism by immersion.
